A Dematting Comb Built Wide for Big Coats

This dematting comb carries a double-sided head that is 6.7 inches across, so each stroke covers far more of a large dog than an ordinary comb does. One side works through mats and tangles, the other lifts loose undercoat, and a button in the handle releases the collected fur.

A Wider Head Means Fewer Passes

  • Fewer strokes: a wide head crosses a shepherd's back in a fraction of the passes a narrow comb needs.
  • Two sides, one tool: flip it between the mat side and the undercoat side without putting it down.
  • Rounded tips: the stainless steel teeth have no sharp edges, so the head glides instead of catching.
  • One-press cleaning: the button on the handle pushes the collected fur off in a single clump.
  • Non-slip grip: an ergonomic handle that holds through a long session on a heavy coat.

Extra-Wide Where It Matters

A narrow comb is fine on a terrier. On a retriever, a shepherd or a long-coated cat it means going over the same area again and again, which is usually where the dog gives up. The wide head is the difference between finishing the groom and abandoning it.

Two Sides for Two Different Problems

The wider-spaced side opens mats and tangles with less resistance. The denser side lifts the loose undercoat that ends up on your floor. Neither side needs a second tool or a change of grip.

Press the Button, Drop the Fur

When the teeth pack up, a button in the handle pushes the whole mat of collected hair off in one motion, so you are not picking fur out tooth by tooth mid-session.

Rounded Tips, Not Sharp Ones

The teeth are nested and rounded at the ends, so the head sits flat on the coat and does not scrape the skin where the fur is thin.

Size

One size, with a head built deliberately wider than a standard comb. The dimension diagram in the gallery gives the full measurements, so you can check it against how big a dog you are grooming.

Specifications

  • Head: Double-sided, extra-wide 6.7 in / 17 cm
  • Dimensions: 6.7 x 3.9 x 2.6 in
  • Teeth: Precision stainless steel, rounded non-scratching tips
  • Handle: Ergonomic non-slip grip with press-to-release button
  • Suitable for: Dogs and cats, all coat lengths
  • Colors: Blue, Pink

Safety note: hold the coat above a tight mat and work it open in short strokes rather than dragging the comb through in one pull.

Finish the Big Dog in One Sitting

A wider head means fewer passes over the same back, so the Sunday groom is done and the mats are out before he loses patience with it.
