Highlights

  • Rolls and hops on its own: a motor sends it off in random directions with no remote and nobody steering
  • Rope knotted through the top: it whips around as the ball goes, then becomes the thing he chews once he catches it
  • Three modes: Fast for the dog with energy to burn, Slow for the wind-down, Interactive to answer his paw
  • Buzzes back when touched: in Interactive mode a nudge gets a vibration, so the toy responds to him instead of just running
  • Charging port hidden under the lid: sealed away from teeth and drool during play

A puppy left alone chews the baseboard because nothing else in the room is doing anything. Put something down that moves on its own before you go, and he has a better idea to follow than the woodwork.

This motion activated rolling dog ball toy takes off across the floor by itself, bouncing and changing direction, and in Interactive mode it buzzes back at him the moment he paws it.

What it does while you're out:

  • Rolls and hops on its own: a motor sends it off in random directions with no remote and nobody steering
  • Rope knotted through the top: it whips around as the ball goes, then becomes the thing he chews once he catches it
  • Three modes: Fast for the dog with energy to burn, Slow for the wind-down, Interactive to answer his paw
  • Buzzes back when touched: in Interactive mode a nudge gets a vibration, so the toy responds to him instead of just running
  • Charging port hidden under the lid: sealed away from teeth and drool during play

Blue rope ball rolling across a wooden floor in several directions, labeled random movement, auto bouncing and stimulates curiosity

It changes direction on its own, which is the difference between a toy he pushes once and a toy he chases. There's no set route, so there's no simple pattern for him to solve and then walk away from.

The three play modes of the rope ball: fast mode erratic movement, slow mode steady movement, and interactive mode that responds to touch with movement and vibration

Fast is the erratic, high-speed setting. Slow moves steadily for a calmer dog or the hour before bed. Interactive waits, then answers his paw or nose with a nudge and a vibration.

A key switch on the base sets the mode before you hand it over.

Border Collie puppy with the red rope ball, labeled strong and durable, safe to chew, stays entertained and perfect for puppies and small to medium dogs

The ball is pet-safe ABS made for chasing, and the braided rope is soft on teeth and gums with a knot at each end so it holds through a tug of war.

Operation steps: thread and knot the rope into the ball, then rotate the lid open, charge for about half an hour and set the mode with the key switch

Thread the rope through and knot it, twist the lid open for the USB-C port, and set the mode. That's the whole setup, and it stays sealed once the lid goes back on.

Getting the size right

One size. The ball is 2.4 in (6 cm) across and 2.2 in (5.5 cm) tall, with the rope adding length behind it. It's built for puppies and small to medium dogs rather than for a large breed.

Specifications

  • Ball: 2.4 in (6 cm) across, 2.2 in (5.5 cm) tall
  • Materials: Pet-safe ABS ball with braided rope
  • Modes: Fast, Slow, Interactive with vibration
  • Movement: Automatic irregular rolling and bouncing
  • Charging: USB-C under a twist-off lid, about 30 minutes
  • Colors: Blue, Red

Safety note: Made for puppies and small to medium dogs, and for chasing rather than sustained chewing. Supervise a large or determined chewer, check the rope knots between sessions, and retire the toy if the shell cracks.

Charge it, set the mode, and leave it on the floor on your way out, so the door closes on a puppy with something to chase.
