Rolling Ball Cat Toy with Play Mat

Something is moving under the mat. She drops low, ears forward, tail tip twitching, and waits for the bump to come back around. A ball on a bare floor is plainly visible. A bump under a mat is the thing cats stalk.

This rolling ball cat toy with play mat puts a motorized ball under a round crinkle mat and turns it into a hunt. The ball changes direction at the mat edge, the mat rustles with every pass, and a tap from your cat restarts it.

What the ball and mat do:

• Self rolling ball: a built-in motor drives it, so the chase carries on while you're in another room
• Touch activated: a paw on the ball restarts the motion, so your cat controls the game
• Crinkle play mat: 28.3 in (72 cm) across, rustling with every roll and every swipe
• Automatic shut-off: the ball stops after five minutes of continuous play, which saves the battery
• Two sets: a pink mat with a coral ball, or a dark green mat with a mint ball

There's room for more than one cat. The mat marks out a play zone wide enough for two or three cats to crowd around, and it keeps the ball from disappearing under the sofa.

The mat is what makes it work. Under the fabric the ball becomes a moving bump rather than a toy in plain sight, and that's the part she can't leave alone. The ball also rolls on its own without the mat.
